It's a shared love of music that unites the members of St. Peter's Chorus.

"It's a wonderful group of people and we all enjoy choral music and that's the tie that brings us all together," says director, Maxine Moore.

The annual St. Peter's Chorus Advent Concert took place on Sunday at St. Augustine Church in Humboldt. The choir performed a similar concert recently in the town of Drake.

Moore has been the permanent director of the choir since the early 1990's and tries to bring something new every year.

"We've increased our musicians this year to have them involved in more songs just to get a little variety in the sounds. I always try something different."

Moore says the audience can expect advent hymns along with seasonal songs this year. She hopes the beautiful sounds of the season will get everyone into the festive spirit.

Celebrating the "reason for Christmas" is the choir's goal, says Moore.

The choir is comprised of members who are residents in the 11 different communities surrounding Humboldt, and Moore would like to thank them and their audiences for coming out and supporting the group.
