The board of directors of the Humboldt Broncos’ Jr A hockey club wishes to extend their gratitude to outgoing directors Darrin Duell, Jay Fitzsimmons, and Rob Eichorst, who have submitted their resignations to the organization.

Jamie Brockman Humboldt Bronco President stated, “As our club and community move past the exciting, emotional week of our home opener and into a period of calmer reflection, it has become apparent to some, especially those who have volunteered so much of their time since April 6, that now is the time to take a step back and take care of themselves. On behalf of the board of directors and the entire organization, we extend our gratitude for their invaluable contributions.”

Darrin Duell will continue as chair of the Humboldt Broncos Memorial Fund, “While I am relinquishing my role as a director of the hockey club, I will remain chair of the Humboldt Broncos Memorial Fund and the HumboldtStrong Community Fund. I look forward to continuing to work closely with the Broncos in that capacity.”

Duell went on to state that recent Broncos’ board departures will have no impact on the processes and operations of the other two non-profits he chairs, as they are separate registered non-profit entities in Saskatchewan, complete with their own boards of directors.

The Broncos’ board of directors will share their plan to fill these new vacancies in the coming days, with the current projected timeline for completion being the end of October.

In addition to these changes, the Humboldt Broncos organization is pleased to announce that Humboldt resident Luke Strueby has been named the club’s assistant general manager. Along with his new position, Luke will continue to maintain his role as the organization’s director of scouting. Strueby has at one time both played for and then coached the Humboldt Broncos, and the club is excited to move forward with him again in his new role.
