Ten of the 13 survivors from the Humboldt Broncos bus crash are together in Las Vegas this week to attend the NHL awards on Wednesday night.

Some of the players who boarded flights in Saskatoon yesterday say it will be emotional, but great to see everyone.

The Broncos will be recognized by the NHL and hope that their late head coach, Darcy Haugan, will be the recipient of the inaugural Willie O'Ree Community Hero Award.

It recognizes someone who has improved their community, culture or society through the game of hockey.

Humboldt's team bus was on its way to a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League playoff game on April 6 when it collided with a tractor trailer, killing 16 people and injuring 13.
