There are more vehicles driving around the Town of Bruno on Friday.

The Bruno School and Humboldt's Colony Chevrolet GMC Buick are teaming up to host a test drive event.

For each test drive of a supplied Buick or GMC vehicle, $20 is going towards the school.

Principal Lianne Borstmayer says that the funds go to a program that continues to develop character.

"The money is going towards our Leader in Me program," said Borstmayer. "It is a program that began in 2006 and it is teaching kids the seven habits of highly effective people. This money will go towards buying resources for the teaching of that next year."

Up to $10,000 could be raised throughout the day.

Borstmayer says that having the support of local businesses makes them quite grateful.

"We want to thank Colony for all of their hard work. They have six Buick's and six GM's out here."

The test drive event goes until 5:00pm. It is being held in conjunction with the school's fun day, which featured a parade and some other activities throughout the morning.

Like all schools, Bruno is entering a busy month as the month turns to June.

Borstmayer says they are quite excited for graduation.

"Our very important day, grad, is on Friday, June 9, so we are very much looking forward to seeing all of those good looking Grade 12's."

The town is holding their annual sports day on Saturday, with baseball games going on throughout the day and a heifer show taking place as well.
