The Business Improvement District in Humboldt has finalized a "Downtown Revitalization Plan" that was recently outlined to City Council.

"There were open house consultations, individual meetings with groups and stakeholders as well as a booth at Streetfest last year," explained Coordinator Erin Standish.

"Through out that over 220 people participated and gave us input on the downtown," she continued. "One of the things that came out first was that people like our downtown already which is fantastic because we all know that in our heart."

The plan includes 56 short, medium and long term plans.

Standish highlights some suggestions that came forward.

"Different things including aesthetics, increased greenery, street scaping designs as in furniture, different events, things like that were a lot of the suggestions that came up through the community."

Council will be meeting with the BID board in the near future to get the ball rolling on how to implement the ideas.

They will also have an open house on Tuesday from 12pm-7pm at their office, they are located at 812 6th Avenue.
