Doris and Keith Burns recently travelled to Humboldt to deliver special messages of condolences, thoughts, and prayers for the Humboldt community.

The couple from Chetwynd, B.C. wanted to bring a set of large posters/cards from their community to Humboldt to present to the Broncos organization.

Doris originally hails from the Battlefords.  She, like so many people in this country, have been impacted by the April 6th bus crash, and wanted to make sure the Humboldt community feels the support from other Canadians, near and far.

"Saskatchewan never leaves you, no matter where you live", says Burns.

The Burns' say that their entire community in British Columbia has been touched by the tragedy. Keith explains that some of the Junior A hockey team players in their surrounding areas insisted that their parents drive them to their games, after hearing about the crash in Saskatchewan. They also say that many Saskatchewan flags are flying around their community, and green and gold is seen in windows of homes and buildings. Children and adults alike made sure to wear various team jerseys on Jersey Day, in honour of the Broncos.

The Broncos organization is grateful for people like the Burns' who have shown their support for Humboldt.

"It's bolstered our strength throughout this difficult time. We are so very grateful for the continued support," says Darrin Duell, of the Broncos organization.

Duell says it means so much that the Burns' and other Canadians have come to Humboldt to show their support.

"It's been really amazing...the outpouring of support we've experienced as a club," he says."It's a very, very grand gesture and we appreciate it very much."
