As summer winds down in Humboldt city crews and contractors are still very busy with construction.

Friday, city staff provided an update on a number of major capital projects, some complete, some still underway.

The 11th Avenue storm water drain watermain that will take storm waste to the Water Ridge Pond is progressing. The storm drain will increase the capacity of the system to alleviate street and basement flooding when heavy rains hit. That should be completed before the end of the year.

Phase one of the Centennial Park upgrades is underway, crews are currently working to improve drainage at the site, they are also working on upgrading the north parking lot at the Uniplex. The parking lot will be closed until mid-October.

5th Avenue at the post office has been paved, they are now just working on cosmetic upgrades such as landscaping.

Lastly, the $4.5 million water plant upgrade continues on time and on budget.
