Another opportunity to ensure your child's car seat is up to date is occurring on Thursday.

Safe Communities Humboldt and Area is hosting the clinic along with SGI, the Lanigan RCMP and CN Police.

Executive Director Shari Hinz says all parents and caregivers are encouraged to come to the clinic.

"There's so many factors that go into assessing whether or not a child is in the correct seat and can be in fact changed to different positioning within the vehicle so that's a great reason for people to come and make sure that they have their child in the right seat and have it inspected and installed properly."

Hinz added that occasionally, expiration dates are overlooked by parents so they will find out when their seats expire or if they might already be expired.

Technicians will also go over when the proper time is to switch babies from backwards facing to front facing, and from a five-point harness to a booster seat.

Hinz says that the inspection goes right down to whether or not the car seat has been recalled.

"We have a list of car seat recalls, so technicians will be cross referencing the make, model, and the serial number of the seats that are being inspected with the recall listing."

Each child along for the ride to get the seat inspected will receive a goody bag.

The clinic is being held at the Lanigan & District Ambulance, located at 25 Downing Drive.

It will run from 4:00 to 6:00pm.
