Monday, February 18th was Family Day, and there were some festivities occurring just outside of Humboldt.

Starting at 10:00 AM, there was cross country skiing for all ages and skill levels, and in the afternoon from 1:30- 5:00 pm it was bring your own skis snowshoes or toboggan. The day finished up with horse-drawn sleigh rides as well as a classic weiner roast. 

Admission was free however donations were being taken in throughout the day, and all proceeds went back into the club for running costs and maintenance.

Brian Grest with the Carlton Trail Ski club talked about the attendance on the day, as well as how this event supports the club.

"We had quite a lot of hearty people come out considering it was quite cold out. We had 3 teams of horse-drawn sleighs, skiing and snowshoeing and all capped off with a wiener roast. Everyone had a really great time. All the proceeds go back to help keep our club running."

Grest also touched on the ages of attendees on the day.

"It was actually really great because we had numerous kids come out and really get into and enjoy the activities. It was just a really awesome afternoon all around."

The Dixon Ski site is located just 18 km northwest of Humboldt, and hosts numerous ski days each year.
