People from Humboldt and surrounding area were lined up outside all around the EPA to see the Stanley Cup along with Chandler Stephenson on Friday.

Chandler Stephenson is a member of the Washington Capitals, who won the Stanley Cup back in June. It was then when Stephenson made a promise to bring the cup to Humboldt. The 24-year-old forward with the Stanley Cup Champion, Washington Capitals, grew up in Saskatoon and traveled to Humboldt for games in his childhood.

"(I played) A few tournaments in minor hockey but never was a bronco or played for them but a lot of my buddies have gone through the organization and two guys that were on the team last year, Brayden Camrud and Kaleb Dahlgren. I skate with them and work out with them throughout the summers and things like that. That's kinda something that's just down the road, and it's Saskatchewan you know, it's a small province, but a lot of people know a lot of people so its something that is a no-brainer," Said the forward of the Capitals.

Stephenson arrived with the cup along with NHL Hall of Fame displays and 15 other NHL Players including Brayden Schenn, Scott Hartnell, Adam Graves and many more. Interactive games and a Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame exhibit trailer were available for people to tour. There also were two pick-up street hockey rinks located in the curling rink where local kids had the opportunity to play shinny with the NHL players.

In the meantime, the Humboldt Broncos kicked off their training camp at 5 P.M. at the EPA on Friday, August 24th until August 26.
