Rural communities are widespread across Saskatchewan and Humboldt is one of them.

Doug Griffiths, from Alberta, was in provincial politics, a nationally renowned author and now the CEO and President of "13 ways". Yesterday from 3:30 P.M. to 4:30 in Humboldt, Griffiths gathered dozens of people at Jubilee Hall for a presentation.

The presentation was called Everything is About to Change and focused on the importance of change in a rural community and community growth. Subjects covered at the presentation went over how to deal with change as a community and why change is not normally accepted by people.

"The way technology is advancing and the way culture is changing, change is coming at us faster than it ever has before and 15 years from now we are going to experience more change than in the last 100 years. so it's not good enough anymore to get ready for today and try to prepare, we need to prepare for tomorrow," said Doug Griffiths.

Also, the Albertan author used to be a politician in Alberta and wrote a rural development strategy and Griffiths realized people tend to sabotage their own communities by driving out younger generations. As a result, the rural community will not continue to thrive as people move away.

People enjoyed the presentation for an hour at a cost of $10 and were able to enjoy refreshments.
