Following three years as City Manager in Humboldt, Roy Hardy is moving on to a new community.

On June 27, the city announced that Hardy was resigning from his spot to pursue a new opportunity.

Hardy confirmed on Tuesday that he was headed to Weyburn.

"I have had the opportunity of working in Humboldt for a number of years, and it was made official (Tuesday) that I am going to the City of Weyburn to be their City Manager in August."

Under Hardy's leadership, the city was able to move forward with many items surrounding strategic planning and budgeting.

He noted that the planning process is something he was proud to see come to life.

"I think my greatest pleasure was to see the city developing its Our Humboldt vision, values and strategic plan," he said. "I think that has come to life and seen our community align itself with that."

Hardy came to Humboldt from Ontario, where he worked as a Chief Administrative Officer.

As far as Humboldt's future goes, Hardy believes that if council continues to work on the path they are headed, great things will happen.

"The efforts of the community itself, to see some dreams realized - whether it is the expansion of the lagoon, or eventually the fieldhouse and theatre," he explained. "I think council has to work to these goals, and if they develop the partnerships with the community and get the support going, anything can happen in the City of Humboldt."

Along with Hardy's resignation, the city announced that Jennifer Brooks would be leaving as well.

Brooks has been with the city since 2012, and has served as Director of Community Development and Communications.

She will be attending Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy in Saskatoon in September in order to pursue a Master of Public Administration post-graduate degree.

Her last day with the city will be on July 21.
