An survey put forward by the city of Humboldt hopes to give a better insight into how the public views the current environment plan.

Eco West Canada, working through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, will be conducting the survey. The survey will help to paint a clearer picture in terms of the direction Humboldt needs to go in its planning for a green future. It will provide a way for citizens to voice their opinions on the city's plan through an anonymous platform.

Humboldt's Mayor, Rob Muench, tells us what the survey entailed. "What they are doing is approaching different cities throughout the country, and providing this service as part of membership in the FCM." Muench continued " They will provide a data sheet that will give us a better idea of where we are at, and how to mitigate different issues in our community."

Muench stated that the survey is still being finished, but that changes have already come of the survey. Infrastructure improvements, as well as pre-planning for large amounts of rainfall, are just some of the ways the survey is beginning to implement change. The survey targetted citizens of Humboldt, and their thoughts and opinions on the environmental plan put forward by the city of Humboldt.

The environment plan moving forward will rely heavily on public feedback, as the environment in our community should be of concern to all citizens.
