The City of Humboldt has sent out a release in regards to the 8-year prison sentence of Jaskirat Singh Sidhu.

On Friday, March 22nd, Sidhu was sentenced to eight years in prison for each cause of death and five years for every cause of bodily harm. The sentence is to be served concurrently in a time span of eight years.

"Justice has served its course and the Court has delivered what it deems appropriate in this complicated and unprecedented case. It is commendable that Mr. Sidhu chose to plead guilty and spare everyone affected from reliving that fateful day, and the months that followed. The past 11 months have been unparalleled in many inconceivable ways. A blend of every emotion has been felt worldwide," the City stated.

They also complimented Humboldt's resilience and determination to move forward and to continue to do so.
