Look up; you'll see the Christmas colours as Humboldt's holiday decorations are lining the streets.

The City of Humboldt has decked the streets with Christmas cheer and decorations following the weekend of Remembrance Day to jump into the holiday season.

"It's primarily in the downtown, so Main Street, some on 9th Street, some on 7th Street, and there's a few scattered north of that on Main Street as well. On Highway 5 we have a bunch too, from 4th Street all the way to 21st Street," said Peter Bergquist, Director of Public Works with the City of Humboldt.

It's a yearly tradition in the city to jazz up the streets with Christmas cheer. However, the city is considering some improvements in the future, which would include a more permanent year-round display.

"There are some considerations going into us doing more of a year-round type lighting system, that we can change the colours of the lighting to suit different times of the year. Those questions are being discussed internally and I think some information will be brought forward possibly in the new year with regards to options for that."

The Christmas displays usually stay up until just after Boxing Day.
