In an effort to make local rinks available in communities the Government is once again pledging a sizable chunk of money towards a grant program.

In 2015 the government plans on putting $1.7 million towards the Community Rink Affordability Grant.

In the last three years that the program has run about $4.8 million has been used to help 1, 941 ice surfaces all over the Province.

Those available to take advantage of the funding include community-owned indoor skating rink and curling rinks as well as communities, schools and First Nations.
