The Humboldt area is seeing slower development when it comes to the crop for 2017.

According to Saskatchewan Agriculture's Weekly Crop Report, only fall cereals are on track for this time of year, with 15% being reported as ahead, 75% normal and 10% behind.

Spring cereals are 48% normal and 52% behind, while oilseeds are 37% normal and 63% behind. Pulse crops come in at 52% normal and 48% behind.

Across the province, spring cereals, oilseeds and pulse crops range from anywhere between 30 to 44% behind.

Recent rainfall has helped improve development slightly from the previous week. Rainfall ranged from 6 to 35 millimetres in the Humboldt area over the past week.

Topsoil moisture comes in at 21% surplus, 61% adequate, 9% short and 9% very short in the region.

SaskPower is also reminding farmers about equipment coming into contact with power lines. There has been 156 reports of that so far this year, with 22 occurring in June.
