For the second time, the Village of Middle Lake will be featured on CTV's hometown tour.

The media group began travelling to smaller Saskatchewan centres and sharing community stories a few years back including a stop in Middle Lake three years ago.

That was prior to their million dollar multi-plex construction. That's just one aspect that impressed personality Jeff Rogstad.

"There is just so much going on here. It's nice to see a community that is coming up with new ideas, innovative ways to keep their community thriving and moving and going forward, Middle Lake is doing that."

With the new multi-plex, a couple new businesses, the 60th anniversary of Bethany Village plus their booming park, Middle Lake has lots to offer.

Mayor Ken Herman says it's exciting to have them come back.

"It will be interesting to see what all comes out of it. They were around town all day, I think they enjoyed themselves. There was lots to see, the park was involved, Bethany was involved, Water's Edge was involved, you know, everything."

Rogstad hails from the Watson area and has been a fixture on CTV Saskatoon for years, he says it's great to get out of the city and share some upbeat stories in an industry that does feature many down days.

"It's great to get out and tell those positive stories as you say, so much of the news sometimes deals on the troubles in life. What's great about doing hometown tour is you can get out there and show people great things and frankly how blessed we are to be living in our area."

You can see the feature tonight during CTV Saskatoon's six o'clock newscast.

You can hear more from both Rogstad and Herman below in their interviews with Bolt FM's Clark Stork.
