Get set to celebrate arts and culture over the next two days in Humboldt.

This year the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery has some help from the Gathering Place, Humboldt Regional Newcomers Centre as well as the library to host events Friday and Saturday for Culture Days.

Jean Price works at the museum, she explains how the line up kicks off Friday morning at 11:30.

"We've got Katie and Greg playing in the museum, or hopefully if the weather is nice they will be playing in front of the museum so just pop on by and listen to them. We are also doing an activity in the museum called silhouette making, you come in, you make a silhouette and then you fill the inside of it up with things that are about you that people wouldn't necessarily know without looking at you."

Friday's agenda will be capped off by a "human library" event at the Newcomer Centre. Ten different people will be on hand to talk about there lives in a revolving fashion. That gets underway at 7 o'clock.

Price says the line up is bigger and better this year thanks to the hard work of a couple more groups being involved.

"The HRNC and the library have organized wonderful events. The Community Gathering Place got involved this year as well which means we have a full working kitchen which means we can do cooking at a level we weren't able to do when it was just in the museum and the gallery so it's going to be a real exciting couple days."

She was also boasting about the great opportunity for family entertainment with zero cost.

"Everything is free, we have a grant from SaskCulture that covers the cost of everything. Everyone is welcome at all of the events. All of them are drop in events so come by whenever you like."
