As the old American standard goes, "You say 'To-may-toe, I say, 'Tom-at-o'"...

Tomato Tomato, the multitasking duo from New Brunswick, delighted audiences Friday evening with their east coast, bluegrass sound at the Humboldt and District Art Gallery.

"They were amazing musicians. They were great storytellers. It was a really successful event and a really awesome band," says Museum Supervisor, Jean Price of the concert.

John and Lisa McLaggan are the husband and wife team that make up the act, with Lisa performing as a "one-woman" band. The multi-instrument percussionist joined her husband John on vocals and some storytelling with maritime flair was thrown in for good measure.

The sold-out crowd really enjoyed the show, according to Price. Price says the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Council (OSAC) allows the gallery to bring touring musicians such as Tomato Tomato to Humboldt. "It really adds to the diversity of performing arts in Humboldt," says Price.

The band will continue their Saskatchewan tour and the gallery will welcome the next act in the concert series, Chris Henderson, to perform April 14th.
