The City of Humboldt will have a new mayor after the October 26th civic election.

Malcolm Eaton announced Thursday that he will not seek a fourth term in the mayor's chair this year.

The former school principal first joined council in 2003 before moving to the big chair in 2006. He was re-elected in 2009 and 2012.

A news release issued on Thursday just past 12 o'clock lists the hospital construction, the upgrading of Humboldt Collegiate Institute and the Public School, hosting the 2012 RBC Cup and completing growth projects to last 20 years as accomplishments during his tenure.

Eaton has also contributed at a provincial and national level putting Humboldt on the map through SUMA and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Board of Directors.

Eaton is currently in Meadow Lake attending Mayoral meetings, we will have reaction from him on Friday.
