A fast-food restaurant in Humboldt served up much more than burgers and root beer on Saturday.

The third annual yard sale to benefit the MS Society was hosted by A& W. Countless pre-loved goods were for sale, with all the proceeds going towards multiple sclerosis research.

"We started about a month and a half ago, collecting (items). We usually take donations throughout the year, but we get really aggressive about a month before the yard sale," says Joe Larocque, restaurant manager for Humboldt A & W.

Larocque says he was inspired by his area manager in Strathmore, who started A & W yard sales for the MS society a few years ago, and felt it would be a good fundraiser for the cause at his location.

$1200 was raised at last year's sale, and Larocque is hoping to achieve similar results this year for the MS Society.

"(We want to) raise some awareness for something that affects so many people. One out of every three Canadians are affected or know somebody who has MS. It's a good cause."
