The Festival of Wreaths is officially underway in the City of Humboldt.

Funds that are raised go toward supporting various community events and classes.

Leah Terry is the Cultural Programmer for the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery.

She describes the auctions that take place.

"First of all this is the 17th year that this has been on. It starts today (November 17th) at two, and runs until December 8th, when we have a live auction that evening. We have live auction items but we also have silent auction items that are set up at the Gallery."

Terry describes what some of the bidding items are.

"Everything from Wreaths, to quilts, to food, to decorations, and we'd like to give a big thanks to anyone who donated this year to the Festival of Wreaths. We really appreciate it. There are many lovely items, not just Christmas items, but every day decorations and items for your home."

Terry says the support from the community is overwhelming.

"very well supported by the community. We get a number of people, there's people in here already and it's only been open for 15 minutes. Certainly, if you're interested in placing a bid, get down here as soon as you can, and certainly come back and check on how your bid is doing."

Festival of Wreaths has been successful in the past, and would like to continue that success this year.
