The first annual Manitou Health and Healing Fair took place on Saturday.

Co-Host Nadine Rolph tells us why they wanted to put on this event.

"I myself am a energy healer, I've been to various trade shows. I thought that Watrous would be an excellent community for it. I also knew that Nicole, who I grew up with, would be a great compliment. She has different strengths and skills than I do. I thought together, we would be a great pair to put on this type of event."

She explains why they chose the Watrous Civic Centre for their location.

"Between Watrous and Manitou Beach the Civic Centre was a great location for the event. It had enough room to house the 35 vendors that we had, and also adjacent to Manitou Beach with its natural healing waters to draw the crowd that we wanted to service."

Rolph adds what this means for the communities of Watrous and Manitou Beach.

"It brings other products and services from the alternative health and healing and also the mainstream health and healing to the residents of Watrous and Manitou Beach. To helps to improve the mind, body, spirit and soul."

Along with the 35 vendors, the health fair also brought in four guest speakers.

Next year's Fair is already scheduled for August 25, 2018.
