There's something that sets Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28's annual fish fry apart from other fundraising suppers, according to event organizer, Sherry Hogemann.

"It's the sliced potatoes! A lot of people come for those sliced potatoes!!" Hogemann says with a smile.

Legion members were frying up the fish to go along with those famous potatoes on Saturday evening. The full meal included fish, potatoes, baked beans, and coleslaw.

The fourth annual fish fry of its kind is a fundraiser for the Legion, and Hogemann says this year's focus is on updating some of the furniture, which Hogemann says has been around since the 1980's.

Hogemann says advanced ticket sales have been helping with those fundraising goals and she says the turnout has been good this year.

"The food is absolutely amazing! It's great. Next year, people need to get their tickets earlier so they don't miss the fish fry!"
