The Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery supplied a great lunch option Thursday as they raised funds for the Water Tower in Humboldt.

The Water Tower is an iconic sky line feature in Humboldt that has been preserved for years to come and is open for tours during the summer months.

The BBQ was to raise funds for the maintenance and upkeep of the water tower.

Jean Price with the Museum Gallery tells us more.

"The Water Tower itself requires a lot of maintenance is quite a large building it is a historic building so the maintenance requirements are quite high. So it will need to be repainted in a few years which is quite expensive, the roof needs a lot of upkeep, and the general upkeep just on the inside."

The tours have been going well at the Water Tower this year and they plan to do a few extra ones throughout September. Price says that you can watch their facebook page for details.

They raised just over $400.00 for the Water Tower at the BBQ.
