Humboldt and area is currently in the middle of a warm spell and as forecasters are watching their record books closely, motorists should also be keeping an eye on the roads.

Daytime highs are well above normal, which has an impact on roads, according to Environment Canada's Natalie Hazell.

"Beware the freeze frost cycle, drive carefully, pay attention to road conditions. Even though the conditions are much nicer, it doesn't mean that all of your hazards have disappeared."

That applies to traffic on foot as well, as pavement frost can make things slick on your commute.

A record-breaking week continued in the Watrous area after Thursday's high of eight. In Humboldt, the temperature was just shy of four at its peak.

While temperatures will slip below zero throughout the weekend, it will remain eight to 10 degrees above normal.
