Gas prices increase around long weekends it seems but Gas Buddy Analysis Dan McTeague explains why they are jumping up within the next 24 hours.

"A lot of gas stations have been buying their fuel for $1.06 a liter so if they are selling for a $1.08 not only are they losing money but with more people on the roads, maybe a double of their volumes, it just means double the loss."

The gas prices will see an increase but it won't last for a very long period of time. McTeague expects the price to drop to around $1.14 - $1.13 range by Sunday or Monday.

With that in mind, McTeague suggests if you pass a station that has a cheap price to fill up while you can because "it's not a matter of if, its a matter of when".

Also, there will be a shift in prices because of winter to summer gasoline coming in the second week in April.
