Brad Anderson had nothing but good things to about Sheldon Sperling after the memorial golf tournament on Saturday.

"He was a guy that would just stick his hand up first to help out any way he could in the community, he was really involved with the curling club and just one of those stand-up guys."

Brad Anderson was one of the organizers of the 5th Annual Sheldon Sperling Memorial Golf Tournament and also a friend of Sperling.

Sperling died of cancer at the age of 44 in July 2013.

The tournament was a success with over 80 people in attendance.

After the tournament people enjoyed a supper that consisted of steak, baked potatoes, and salad.

"It was really good, really good, no complaints there, really good," stated Anderson.

Anderson said many of Sperling's friends would like to make it 6 years next July.

"We just wanted to try and do something ... we decided we should just have this golf tournament, have some memories, get his family to enjoy coming out, seeing the old friends come together, share a few memories, and have a few laughs."
