Futuristic Industries Inc. has been a part of the community of Humboldt for about 44 years now.

They provide vocational training, residential support, recreational opportunities, employment support, individuals programs, and service and community involvement for people who are intellectually disabled. Futuristic consists of 43 individuals that take part in wood works, recycling work, and activities.

The question is, how is there room to fit all of the participants into one building? Well, recently the Futuristic Industries complex underwent some renovations and held a grand re-opening on Thursday, September 6th.

"What had happened is that SARCAN Humboldt Depo operated out of this building as well for many many years. SARCAN was getting to the point it was small. The amount of containers they were bringing in every day, they needed a much larger facility. So, that dream was possible for them and they moved to their new location. So, that presented us with an opportunity to renovate the space where SARCAN used to be, making the facility much larger for the individuals we support here," Said Meagan Ward, CEO of Futuristic Industries Inc.

The re-opening consisted of a tour of the digs for the organization as dozens of people interacted while enjoying cake and beverages.

Futuristic Industries offers a variety of activities and tasks that focus on enhancing abilities and creating new skills for those with intellectual disabilities. With that said, the new renovations to the facility will help make aiding and providing for the participants much easier.
