The Greenwater RCMP were kept busy throughout the month of April, according to their monthly report.

In total, police responded to 127 calls for service, with traffic offences being the highest at 32 calls. Throughout the month, police laid 92 charges, arrested 12 people and held six people in custody for court dates.

Of interest, the detachment says that sometime between March 31 and April 2, a residence on the 100 block of 3rd Avenue in Kelvington was broken into.

A pink grad dress worth around $550 was stolen. The theft is still under investigation.

On April 2 at 3:45am, a report was made that a vehicle was driving in a privately-owned field east of Fosston. The report indicated that gunshots were heard.

After the vehicle was located, a 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with four crimes, including impaired driving and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

During the month, police had two missing persons reports - both of which were resolved in short time. They added that it is a myth that 24 hours must pass before a report is made, stating that the sooner they know, the better chance there is of finding that person.
