Two storms in 12 hours? It's not something we see often, but around 3 a.m. Wednesday a major storm moved in bringing with it hail, high winds, lots of lightning and even more hail.

The north and east side of the city appears to have been hit the worst, while there are reports of just high winds and rain from South Hill and the west side.

There were piles of hail around the city that looked more like snow banks shortly after the storm, and localized flooding was also reported as the hail plugged storm drains and culverts, creating small lakes on some streets and parking lots.

Then at 3 p.m. Wednesday, the second storm moved in, and although it was short lived - it brought with it lots of rain.

Rain poured for only 10 or 15 minutes, but it was enough to fill most streets and parking lots with water. There are also reports of ping-pong sized hail falling West of Moose Jaw, but nothing confirmed yet. According to the radio station weather gauge - 47mm of rain has fallen within the last 24 hours.

We have also received reports that the underpass leading to the one-ways and Wakamow has been closed due to flooding.
