Progress on the 2017 harvest is above the five-year average, according to Saskatchewan Agriculture's Weekly Crop Report.

In the Humboldt area, 14% of the crop is in the bin, which is up from four percent last week, and also up from the average of eight percent.

An additional 32% is swathed or ready to straight cut, according to the report.

While harvest is continuing, the report also states that soil conditions continue to deteriorate due to a lack of moisture.

Around Watrous, nearly all cropland is reporting as short to very short for moisture conditions.

Across the province, 26% of the crop is in the bin, which is well-above the average of 16%.

The report continues, stating that almost all winter wheat and fall rye is in across the province, with both reporting at 98% complete.

Any reported crop damage is due to lack of moisture, insects and strong winds.
