With little rain reported over the week, the Humboldt area saw significant progress in harvesting the 2016 crop.

Saskatchewan Agriculture's Weekly Crop Report says that 22% of the crop is now combined, with 53% swathed or ready to straight cut. That is a jump of 14% from the week prior.

Cropland topsoil moisture is rated as 22% surplus and 78% adequate. Hay land and pasture sits at 10% surplus and 90% adequate.

Across the province, 32% of the crop is combined with an additional 38% swathed or ready to straight cut. That is slightly above the five-year average, but below last year's pace of 40% combined.

Harvest is furthest along in the southeast, with 48% complete, with the northwest is lagging behind at just 14% combined.

Winter wheat is 94% combined, with field peas at 85%, lentils at 65%, durum 26%, spring wheat 23% and 17% for canola.

Crop damage is attributed to wet harvest weather. Some crop yields are down in areas flooded during the summer.
