Students in three classes at Humboldt Collegiate Institute got to have their say ahead of Wednesday's Civic Election.

While they aren't old enough to have their ballots cast yet, students took part in a mock election for the City of Humboldt.

The vote gives students an opportunity to gain knowledge on what plans are for those who ran in the election, as well as to prepare for their future right to vote.

Once the ballots were counted, there was no change in the result for Mayor, as Rob Muench was elected by students.

The vote for council, however, did see some differences.

Four of the six Councillors that were elected by Humboldt voters were too voted in by students. Michael Behiel received the highest amount of votes, with Sandy Weyland, Larry Jorgenson and Lorne Pratchler finishing in the top six.

The change came with more students voting for Justin Arendt and Francis Kunz over the two who were elected on Wednesday, Roger Nordick and Owen Hopfner.
