Humboldt and District Community Services is looking back on 2015 as a great year for the group.

One of the many highlights for the HDCS was celebrating 15 years in the city.

Executive Director Juanine Korte said they have a few exciting plans in place for 2016.

"Most recent things coming up would be the launch of a new website for us, we also hope to deliver some training programs tailored specifically to our clients and also expand our work with students who are transitioning from school to adult living but most importantly we will continue to focus on addressing unmet needs in our community."

The future for the group in Humboldt looks bright according to Korte, "we've been very good at changing and expanding in order to meet the needs of individuals, families, caregivers, and the community at large that they have presented to us."

They added a job search resource centre for those needing access to computers and resources for their job search needs.

They currently have a pay it forward contest on their Facebook page that the public is encouraged to get involved with.

The past year was filled with a lot of hard work for the group explained Korte, "we focused a lot of time on building our programming, promoting diversity and creating awareness about the needs of citizens with varying abilities in our community."

Day of Pink, FASD Awareness, and disability awareness month in October were a few other highlights for the HDCS.
