The Humboldt and District Hospital Foundation held there annual Friends Fore Health Care Charity Scramble September 10th 2016, with great success.

This years event was held in LeRoy, at LeRoy's Leisureland Golf Course. Where half of the funds raised would benefit Evergreen Country Home.

Lorrie Bunko the Executive Director with the HDHF was excited to talk about this years event, it was the sixth year that it has been going on.

"This signature event is the one where we partner with another health care organization within the district and share the funds equally within the two organizations. So it's not only raising funds for the hospital foundation, but in this case, Evergreen Country Home received fifty percent of the profits. It's raising awareness of health care, whether it be acute care, long term care, assisted living, just highlighting the importance of health care, how we all need one another and leaving the community with some tools on how to fundraise in the future."

The event was fairly well attended, they had 58 golfers.

At the event this year not only was there golf, supper and prizes but Bunko tells us about a new event.

"The Lucky Duck Event, we had a pool set up and people bought numbered rubber ducks for five dollars. We called eight numbers at then end of the evening those people came up and we had duck racing in the pool. The prize was a BBQ smoker donated by Horizon Fertilizers and The RM of LeRoy."

Overall the event was a great success.

Bunko added that any community that is interested in hosting the event next year can email them and they will take you into consideration for next year.
