The Humboldt & District Hospital Foundation received yet another on Friday from the Lake Lenore Knights of Columbus at the Wade Waseen memorial basketball tournament.

Lake Lenore Knights of Columbus donated $3,000 to the HDHF to go towards support for mental health and addictions. The Humboldt & District Health Complex is looking to renovate four patient rooms. The hope is to make all four rooms safer for mental health and addictions patience.

"We have been seeing a steady increase in patients and it's important to have a room that is safe for the patients by taking away any risks of self-harm while keeping it comfortable for family and friends," said Lorrie Bunko, executive director of the HDHF.

The rooms will see plumbing, window, door, and bed upgrades which are an estimated $6,000 per room. In total, all four rooms will cost the HDHF $24,000.

With the donation from the Lake Lenore Knights of Columbus, the HDHF now has three of the four rooms fully funded.
