The Humboldt District Hospital Foundation received a donation on Saturday night at the Elgar Pedersen Arena at the first intermission of the Humboldt Broncos and Nipawin Hawks game.

$46,000 was donated by the Saskatoon Blades, Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation and Synergy 8. The money was raised through an auction of the custom jerseys that were worn at the Blades Home Opener. Within the $46,000 a Canadian golfer, Alena Sharp sported a green golf bag embedded with the Broncos logo. This bag was auctioned off by the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation.

The donation is set to go towards a new incubator at the Humboldt District Hospital. A new incubator has been on the wish list of the HDHF for over a year which costs $43,000.

"The incubator we have is in excess of 25 years and we have to replace it because the motor on it is too loud which is not meeting regulations because it's too hard on a baby's ears," said Lorrie Bunko, executive director of the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation.

The donation came in the wake of the April 6th bus crash as the Saskatoon Blades, Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation and Synergy 8 felt they wanted help Humboldt any way they could.

"Like everybody, we wanted to do something and we have a long partnership with the Saskatoon Blades and we sat down with the Blades and discussed how we could raise some dollars for the community," said Troy Davies, a board member with Synergy 8.

The Blades also donated jerseys to all the families of those affected by the crash. The HDHF also received 14 jerseys which will be auctioned off in February.
