Highway construction season is arriving in the Humboldt area, with a few projects to note.

On Highway 6 north of Dafoe, a $5.8-million project is seeing grading and paving. That began in early March and is expected to be wrapped up by the fall.

North of Wakaw on Highway 2, widening and paving is taking place over a stretch of 16 kilometres. There is also some culvert installation being done. That too is expected to be complete in the fall.

The grade raise north of Humboldt is still ongoing. Crews are raising the road due to water encroaching on the surface. More details on that road can be found here.

Across the province, nearly 1,000 kilometres of road will be worked on throughout the construction season, with $1.1-billion being spent.

The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure reminds drivers to take caution when approaching a construction zone and to slow to 60 kilometres per hour to ensure the safety of other motorists and workers.
