With Environment Canada predicting snow for areas of the province this week the timing works out nicely for the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure to announce their hotline will be providing 24/7 updates.

"This time of the year, road conditions can change rapidly," Highways and Infrastructure Minister Nancy Heppner stated in a news release issued Monday morning. "The Highway Hotline provides up-to-date road information so travelers can plan their trips safely."

The hotline is updated three different times a day and more if unfavourable weather is occurring.

The hotline map is colour-coded according to highway conditions. Users are reminded to click on specific sections of highway to get detailed information.

You can access the hotline link here. You can also get information over the phone by calling 1-888-335-7623.

The Highway Hotline is the most used Government of Saskatchewan internet resource, with more than five million visitors last year.
