Kids from all over the area gathered in Lake Lenore from July 25th to 27th for the Hometown Hoops Basketball camp.

A total of 62 kids participated in this years camp, one of their highest totals in the camps history.

Jill Weseen organizes the camp and also has CIS playing experience.

She talks about how kids came from all over to participate in the camp.

"There's kids from all over the area. Annaheim, Muenster, Middle Lake, Humboldt, we had someone from Saskatoon, we even had someone from Manitoba."

Weseen says the coaching staff at this years camp was phenomenal.

"It was pretty exciting. We had Joe DeCiman and Margaret DeCiman here this year from Regina. They both played Division 1 NCAA. Joe played at Colorado State, and Margaret played at Louisiana Tech."

Weseen talks about next year, which will be the 20th year of the Camp.

"It will be our 20th anniversary next year. We just kind of just got through this camp, and we're all kind of exhausted, but Margaret and Joe said they would come back, depending on their schedules. It would be great to see them come back, and we always have our returning coaches that come year after year."

The camp featured several local coaches, as well as 2 coaches from Regina that have NCAA Basketball experience.

This was the 19th Annual Hometown Hoops camp.
