The Co-op Community Spaces Program is making playground repairs at the Humboldt Public School a possibility.

Just last week the school installed parts of a new outdoor classroom thanks to a grant through TD Bank, this week HPS is celebrating the announcement of $45,000 from the Co-op.

Principal Clayton Parobec is looking forward to a busy and exciting year.

"In the fall we are hoping to install the first phase of our playground structure in the pre-k/kindergarten area and then obviously in the winter we can't do a whole lot so this project that the $45,000 from the Co-op Community spaces we're looking to install our fresh brand new big structure in May or June of next year."

Since the programs inception in 2015, 4.5 million dollars has been provided to more than 60 projects in BC, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.

"We were one of 27 projects that were selected across Western Canada to receive some support so the school is extremely excited," explained Parobec. 

Co-op is providing $2 million to the 27 different projects in 2017.
