The School Leadership Council at the Humboldt Public School provided funds locally and globally this week.

Jayna Schuler, Co-President of the SLC explained the funds they handed out, "we donated $840 to Free the Children to one of their health pillars and that's going to India and we did that in partnership with WE Day, and then we donated $1000 to the SCC's fundraiser for a new score clock for our school."

SLC Social Representative, Mackenzie Bentley explained why they chose the two organizations.

"I think that we chose the health pillar because we believe that everyone deserves good health and we chose a country within the most need and for the score clock, the SCC was fundraising for it and it's for our school so we decided to help them out."

The SLC used funds they raised throughout the school year by selling candy grams on Valentine's day, they also hosted a carnival and a cake bingo.

A highlight for the SLC during this school year was being able to attend WE Day.

Both Schuler and Bentley extended thanks to staff representatives for their help with the SLC's efforts around the school.

HPS SLC provided a cheque to the Free the Children charity.
