Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authroity charitable gaming grant program has selected over 700 groups and organizations in Saskacthewan to receive $1.3 million.

The grants are given to those who are focused on strengthening Saskatchewan communities.

“Strong communities are made up of volunteers who work together for the betterment of others,” Minister responsible for SLGA Don McMorris said.  “Our government is pleased to provide charitable gaming grants to further support the volunteer efforts of these groups and organizations.”

Humboldt and surrounding area will see $48,247 from the SLGA.

Moose Jaw, Melville, Meadow Lake, and North Battleford are all gaining funds as well.

The quarterly grants provided by the SLGA are based on a percentage of net proceeds raised through licensed charitable gaming activities such as bingo's, raffles, break open tickets, Texas Hold'em poker and Monte Carlo events.

Grant amounts are also based on reports submitted by charitable groups.
