The Humboldt Co-Operative Preschool is hosting a unique fundraising event in Humboldt next Saturday night.

They are holding a casino gaming night and auction which is $40 a ticket.

Board Member Alison Berk thinks they went outside the box a little bit with their idea.

"We just came up with the idea because our school really runs on fundraising a lot and we thought this would be a great way to try to do a fun night to bring promotion to our school and to get a big portion of our fundraising done in one night."

The event is at the Bella Vista Inn so supper is included among your ticket price but as Berk adds, you will have a chance to spend some of your winnings on any of the seven games they will have.

"The games are to be determined yet but your normal blackjack and stuff like that will be there. Each person who purchases a ticket will get some starter money and then once the game is done we're going to do a live auction with the fake money you won to bid on prizes."

The funds raised will go towards the school's everyday operating costs.

Pharmasave is selling tickets, there is only 150 available in advance.
