The Humboldt Curling club held a Paint Nite Fundraiser on Friday night.

The paint night was well attended as the Curling rink upstairs was jam packed with painters.

Bev Kaip is the Manager for the Humboldt Curling Club.

She describes the importance of the Fundraiser.

"This fundraiser is important because we need cameras for our side sheets. Also, as curling is starting to diminish, we have to find other ways to raise money for the curling club to keep the costs down. That way, people can still continue to curl at a reasonable cost."

Kaip explains cameras and monitors are not exactly inexpensive.

"The camera and monitor is just about $1500, so it'll be $3000 we're trying to raise."

Kaip says the fundraising effort will continue next curling season.

"For paint nite, this is a one-time thing, I have other things that will happen next year, I plan to have a comedian come in. That's the next big thing, and we haven't planned anything else after that."
