Shopping local is becoming a little easier over the summer months.

The Humboldt Farmers Market has been open every second Saturday since February from 10 until 1.

Yesterday, they made the switch to 9 until noon every second Saturday, and in July, markets will be held every Saturday.

Market Manager Heather Crone describes how the year is going so far for the vendors.

"So far so good. The more green stuff that comes on the table, the better the sales are. Everyone's excited for the new year."

Crone is the market manager, but has also had her own booth at the market since they began 12 years ago.

She describes how the vegetable harvest will be this year.

"Some things are early, some things are a little bit later. It's a little dry so we could use a shot of rain, but not too much. But it won't be long, and we'll have lots of Vegetables."

Crone says there is a good variety of local shopping to be found at the Humboldt Market.

"We have so much to offer, there's so many things, we a have lots of diversification here. So there's something for everyone."

Markets are open from 9 until noon from now until November, which is when markets will switch back to 10 until 1.

Markets have been held at the Community Gathering Place since February, and will remain there until mid-December.
