The Humboldt Fire Department were called out to a field just southwest of the city Saturday night at 7 o'clock to deal with a tractor fire.

Smoke could be seen billowing into the sky from the machine that caused some issues for the fire department as they couldn't take their trucks to the scene, they had to rely on smaller equipment.

The blaze was under control in about an hour.

They also responded to a small grass fire Saturday morning.

They were dispatched just past 10 o'clock to an area along Highway 5 near the Dixon turnoff.

Chief Mike Kwasnica stated that with the wind Saturday, "thankfully it was a small fire" which was caused by a power pole.

We will have much more on the department's weekend on Monday including video footage.
