The Elgar Petersen Arena was host to some hockey festivities on Saturday.

On January 26th, about 250 parents and kids gathered at the rink for some different activities, with all proceeds going back into local organizations.

There were a handful of draws on the day for items with proceeds going to numerous organizations. A Limited edition team signed Saskatchewan Rush Jersey was donated, and the profits went to Big Brothers Big Sisters Humboldt. A signed Connor Mcdavid Hockey bag saw the proceeds going to KidSport. As well, there was a puck toss done to determine the winner of a custom made Humboldt Broncos backyard firepit. The end earnings of that will go back to Humboldt Minor Hockey itself.

Brenda Behiel with Humboldt Minor Hockey was very pleased with the show of support from Humboldt citizens far and wide.

"We have had amazing support from businesses I'm sure if I would have gone to every one of them they all would have been willing to donate something. We are just so thankful for all the giving they do throughout the years, and we are really having this day to be able to give back."

The day started at around ten with minor hockey games, finished up with a community bonfire at supper, and the Humboldt Broncos game.
